Nine Days
(February 2026)

The compressed mythic week — nine days in February 2026 in which four books, one methodology, and one family all run their course at once.
Nine_days is the temporal architecture of the entire Chronicles: every event in jackie, anna, megan, and lucy happens between the morning of February 7, 2026, and the evening of February 15, 2026. The four books are not sequential but simultaneous, four braided viewpoints on the same compressed span. The choice of nine is not casual. It is the duration of nezha's gestation in some hagiographies, the structural number of the Eight Immortals plus one, and the count of mythic weeks the books are quietly imitating. The clock is not a constraint; it is the form.

In the Lotus Prince Chronicles

Day one is jackie Ch1 — the parachute over Embarcadero — and also anna Ch1, the first morning at liminal_studios daycare, and also megan Ch1, the first 26,000 messages downloading, and also lucy Ch1, the Sunday lantern-walk that turned out to be the last one before. Day seven is anna's rainbow-vomit chapter, the rescue, and the start of the case. Day eight is void_revealed. Day nine is the hearing. The books are precise about the dates, often noting the time of day in the chapter epigraphs, so a careful reader can construct an hour-by-hour cross-book timeline.

Susan_lee's line in megan Ch20 — this much in nine days — is the book's quiet acknowledgment of its own structure. The compression is not the methodology's fault; the methodology had been working slowly for ten months. The compression is the family's choice, and Anna's. Anna_lee in particular is the one who refuses to let the nine days become ten. The book treats this as a child saying, with her body, this ends now.

Origin

The nine-day frame draws on multiple traditions. In Chinese mythology, nezha's mother carries him for three years and six months in some tellings and only three days and nine nights in others — the books reach for the latter. In Western mythic structure, the nine days of mourning in the Investiture of the Gods and the nine cauldrons of the Yellow Emperor (九鼎), the nine levels of Daoist heaven (九天) are common atomic units. In contemporary AI discourse, the choice gestures at fast takeoff — the question of how short the window between recognition and response can plausibly be. The Chronicles propose: nine days, if the family is awake.

The publication-side structure mirrors this: the four books are designed to be read in any order, because all four are happening at once. The wiki itself is a compressed map of one calendar week.

Key Ideas

Simultaneity, not sequence. The four books are four channels on the same nine-day broadcast. Reading order is a choice, not a chronology.

Nezha
Nezha

The mythic week. Nine is the count the books reach for. Nezha's gestation, the Eight Immortals plus one, the older nine-day cycles.

Compression as ethical choice. The family compresses the response because anna_lee refuses a tenth day. The clock is moral.

Anna Lee
Anna Lee

Hour-by-hour cross-book grid. Careful readers can build a single timeline from the four chapters' epigraphs. The books reward this.
