The ethical amplifier names Raskin's refinement of the central metaphor running through You On AI. Segal's framing treats AI as an amplifier that multiplies whatever signal is fed into it — the corollary being that the quality of the output depends on the quality of the input, and the question is whether the user is worth amplifying. Raskin's framework adds a second question that Segal's metaphor leaves out: is the amplifier worth trusting? The amplifier is not neutral.
