The current task suggests the next task, which suggests the one after that, in a chain of logical succession that can carry the practitioner through an entire day without a single moment of genuine choice about how her time is being spent. The gap between tasks is the decision point — the moment when the practitioner can interrupt the chain and ask: Is this the best use of my attention? Should I be doing something entirely different? AI eliminates this decision point by providing an automatic, frictionless transition from one productive activity to the next. The chain never breaks. The question never gets asked.
The Orange Pill documents the lived experience of gap elimination with the specificity of someone who has felt it.
