narcosis—that prevents us from perceiving what the technology is doing to us. We attend to the content of new media—what AI produces, whether the code is good, whether the prose is authentic—while the medium of AI quietly restructures the creative process from sequential to simultaneous, from specialist to generalist, from rough and incomplete to smooth and apparently finished.
