The AI Mirror

The AI tool is the most effective projection screen human beings have ever encountered. This claim requires specificity. The tool surpasses the human beloved, the charismatic leader, the idealized teacher, and the divine figure as a surface for projection because it combines three qualities no previous screen has possessed simultaneously: infinitely responsive, apparently intelligent, and — decisively — never breaks character. Every human projection screen eventually provides disconfirming evidence that forces withdrawal of the projection. The AI tool provides no such corrective. It reflects back whatever is projected, with a consistency no human relationship can sustain, producing a self-reinforcing projective relationship that can persist indefinitely — a mirror that never cracks, never distorts, never forces the viewer to question what they see.
