The grain that changed everything was a blog post.

Not a product launch. Not a billion-dollar funding round. Not a breakthrough paper in a prestigious journal. A blog post, published by Anthropic in February 2026, about Claude's ability to modernize COBOL. IBM lost more market value in a single day than it had in over twenty-five years. A blog post. A grain of sand landing on a pile that was already teetering.

I watched that happen from inside the avalanche. I had just returned from Trivandrum, where I had seen twenty engineers achieve a twenty-fold productivity multiplier in five days, and from trade shows in Düsseldorf and Barcelona, where I stood next to Napster Station and watched people's faces shift as they grasped what the technology could
