The muscle I trust most is the one I cannot feel working.
That sounds like a contradiction. It is not. The muscles you feel are the ones straining — the ones at their limit, announcing themselves through effort. The muscles you trust are the ones that have been trained so deeply they operate beneath awareness. The surgeon's hands. The pilot's sense of altitude. The engineer who feels a codebase the way a doctor feels a pulse.
I described that engineer in *You On AI*. Twenty-five years of building systems had deposited something in him that no documentation could convey. He did not analyze a codebase and then conclude something was wrong. He perceived it. Directly. The way you perceive that a friend is lying
